Chelsea Towers
This 1970’s Bethesda condominium lobby was out of date and in need of a major overhaul. The residents wanted a sophisticated modern aesthetic for their lobby that would complement the building’s architecture. The entry is adorned with custom benches and light fixtures which welcome visitors and guests into the building. The front desk was updated to be ADA compliant for both residents and staff. The beautiful espresso millwork has marble countertops, and custom designed storage that conceals recycles bins for the adjacent mailroom. The millwork also contains a flatscreen which alerts residents to building notices and package arrival. A new package storage area was created, along with a new ramp for residents that have mobility issues. A louvered millwork panel separate the lobby from the redesigned main elevator lobby. And a short residential corridor off the lobby was incorporated into the design. The new lobby design contains a variety of seating areas, including a custom banquette design, settees, and modern wing chairs which provide residents places to sit with a laptop or meet in small groups.
